Access control systems restrict entry to defined areas using cards, codes, or biometrics. Integrating video surveillance (CCTV) enhances security by enabling real-time monitoring. This combination ensures comprehensive control and better risk management.
Surveillance Cameras and Access Control
Video surveillance systems (CCTV) are closely related to access control. Both are concerned with the overall security of the building or site. They are designed to prevent unauthorized entry or intrusion.
Surveillance cameras are primarily used to prevent incidents, acting as a deterrent against vandalism and undesirable behavior. In the event of an incident, they help resolve the issue by providing verification elements and identifying the perpetrators. Additionally, they offer security personnel a comprehensive view of the premises, enabling effective monitoring of access points and sensitive areas. This ensures peace of mind for the staff, the company, employees, and visitors.
Without integration, systems generate separate data that must be manually correlated, which is time-consuming and costly. By integrating video surveillance (CCTV) with access control, the systems work together, enhancing efficiency, reducing errors, and optimizing security.
AVISION for ATRIUM
ATRIUM is an online access control solution. In the management portal, security personnel can view detailed event logs for each door, each user, and each area of the building. Whenever a door is opened, closed, forced, or left open for too long, you are notified.
AVISION is an interface module that integrates detailed event logging in ATRIUM with real-time visibility of CCTV cameras. It is compatible with HIKVision and Dahua NVR cameras, as well as any camera using the ONVIF protocol. There are 3 operating modes available: real-time viewing, delayed viewing of events, and pop-up notifications during events.
Example: If a door is forced open in a building, a CCTV video stream window immediately appears in ATRIUM, showing the incident in real-time and the affected door. This facilitates a quick and appropriate response by providing full visibility of the situation.
ACPR for ATRIUM
The ACPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition) interface creates a seamless access environment between your building and your parking facility. By managing both people and their vehicles in a single database, daily management is simplified.

ACPR easily integrates with any license plate recognition camera using a Wiegand 26-bit SHA1 output. License plates are added to users in ATRIUM in the same way as any other identifier, simplifying management. When a plate is scanned, it is sent to the ATRIUM portal via the Wiegand output. The database is quickly checked for a match. If a record is found, access is granted to the vehicle.
Integrating CCTV or ACPR cameras into your access control system enhances security, simplifies management, and makes the work of security teams easier. When these systems work together seamlessly, their benefits multiply, creating a more efficient and secure environment.
